Slow cooker
Bought the missus a slow cooker as it's nearing valentines and I'm quite the romantic. Anyone got one? Are they any good? And any good recipes ideas so I can get her to cook me something nice for valentines day? COYI

Does wonders with a leg or shoulder of mutton too. Will make you think twice about that flavourless shit they pass off as (Spring) lamb - but keep it quiet: it's a got a fierce reputation of being a poor people's food.

Once the fucking commuters, office workers & school run crowd find out, the price will soar and you won't be able to find it for love nor money.

Re: Slow cooker
Been using mine a fair bit recently and really loving it. Best thing I have cooked in it so far is a beef brisket - loads of recipies online, just using a joint I got from Sainsburys.. The beef after being cooked for about 7 hours is so flavoursome and tender - it was by far the best beef I have ever tasted.

Also tried a Pork shoulder last week to try to do 'pulled pork', that is also worth a shot. Also very good for gammon/ ham.
Well worth using and trying a few recipies as very simple and you can put it in a go to work, when you get in you have the most soft tasty meat waiting for you all cooked.
